Bearings
A bearing is a rolling mechanical device that is utilized to support loads between two moving parts; concurrently, they reduce friction and provide supported rotational movement to the device they are integrated within. Bearings accomplish this through rolling elements which provide multiple small-scale contact areas between surfaces, thus creating less friction than a standard sliding surface. As a result, bearings allow the device to operate more efficiently. The most common bearing varieties include bolt bearings, flexure bearings, fluid bearings, jewel bearings, magnetic bearings, plain bearings, and others. Across multiple markets, bearings are most prevalently used to support rotating shafts.
Our product portfolio includes bearings and related components from top manufacturers such as RBC, RHBB, Accurate Bushing Company, Alcoa Fasteners, Aurora, Timken, and more.
Aerospace Bearings
OEMs and PMA holders must meet particular standards in order to ensure the airworthiness of their hardware products. Bearings utilized in the aerospace industry are held to extensive standards including Army-Navy Aeronautical Standard (AN), National Aerospace Standard (NAS), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and others. These specifications also provide various material standards, testing requirements, and traceability specifications.
Roller bearings, roller thrust bearings, ball bearings, ball thrust bearings, screw bearings, baffle bearings, actuator bearings, and needle bearings are the most frequently used bearings in the aerospace industry.
Bearings are used on aircraft, spacecraft, UAVs, satellite equipment, and other vehicles and equipment.
Fixed-wing Aircraft Bearings
Fixed-wing aircraft integrate bearings in stowage bin support, engines, landing gear, thrust reversers, and doors; in addition, there are specialized bearings used on fixed-wing aircraft which encompass APU bearings, actuator bearings, thrust reverser linkage bearings, door linkage bearings, engine bearings, radar gimbal thin section bearings, stowage bin support bearings, spherical plain bearings, ball bearings, track rollers, landing gear trunnion bearings, and horizontal stabilizer bearings.
Rotary-Wing Aircraft Bearings
Bearings for rotary-wing aircraft are used in the main rotor, tail rotor, landing gear, doors, and engines. Rotary-wing aircraft require specified bearings in most components due to their specialized equipment. There are specified bearings for these applications such as tail rotor pitch link bearings, tail rotor bearings, main rotor swashplate slider bearings, landing gear bearings, engine gearbox and transmission bearings, rod ends, sphericals, and journal bearings, self-lubricating bushings, main rotor bearings, and main rotor pitch link bearings.
Automotive Bearings
In automotive systems that require free rotation and reduced friction between two adjacent parts, bearings are the ideal hardware components. Automotive systems that utilize bearings include the wheels, water pumps, and transmissions. Thrust bearings act as rotary bearings for axial load support and are the most prevalent bearing found in the automotive industry. Other widely used bearings include wheel bearings, roller bearings, gearbox bearings, and clutch release bearings.
Marine Bearings
Bearings are utilized on multiple marine vessels: carriers, battleships, cruisers, tankers, cargo ships, container vessels, passenger vessels, tugs, etc.; marine bearings are also used on wing-in-ground vehicles. Frequently utilized bearings in marine applications include main bearings, top end bearings, bottom end bearings, thrust pad bearings, and pedestal bearings.
