Hardware
Hardware refers to the physical components used in structural assemblies of complete mechanisms or systems. This category encompasses hardware used in the build of an aircraft, from gaskets to IT hardware. The items outlined in this product portfolio are capacitors, brackets, springs, rings, and the like. Though fasteners and bearings are usually classified as hardware, this category excludes these components; this category also excludes complete products and/or assemblies.
Hardware is regulated based on the aircraft model and series it belongs to. The FAA, EASA, and other governing bodies issue parameters such as the Federal Aviation Regulations(FARs) within the code of federal regulations (CFR) in order to ensure traceability and airworthiness of manufactured items. Additionally, hardware may be subject to Aerospace Standards (AS), AN (Air Force-Navy), NAS (National Aircraft Standard), and MS (Military Standard) specifications.
